PHTB Consult has considerable experience in supporting research activities and encourages its partners to publish their findings.
In January 2020, the results of a study in Nepal on the prevalence of symptoms of depression among TB patients got published. You can find the paper here: https://doi.org/10.1017/gmh.2019.28.
PHTB Consult started working with Innovators in Health (IIH - http://www.innovatorsinhealth.org) in 2017. Currently, early 2020, IIH, PHTB Consult and other partners are in the process of researching why people from communities in rural Bihar, India with TB symptoms do not complete the diagnostic process. We hope to be able to share these results soon.
The Brazilian National Tuberculosis Program conducted active case finding in prisons as a project supported by TB REACH (http://stoptb.org/global/awards/tbreach/). PHTB Consult assisted the analysis and publication of the project: http://10.5588/ijtld.17.0526.
The Kutukula Umoyo project, improving the health status of pregnant women and children under five in Balaka, Malawi, had an operational research component on identifying barriers for women accessing care. PHTB Consult supported the development of the protocol, the data collection and the dissemination of the findings and district, national and international audiences.
